Dora is a master of art
Virtuoso Dora MacDonald is a dab hand at painting, as these stunning pictures show.
Dora, 87, from Drumchapel, is a talented amateur artist – and is at her easel most days painting her favourite scenes.
She recently rediscovered her flair for painting after drifting away from it for a while.
Dora, whose favourite artists include modern-day Jack Vettriano, as well as old masters such as Rembrandt and Constable, said: “I’ve always painted, from as far back as I can remember.
“I always got a box of paints at Christmas time when I was young and I got better as the years went on.
“I would always paint with my children too.
“I use acrylic paint and like painting scenery and people. I’m quite old-fashioned. I like to see a picture that looks like a picture.”
GHA Chair Bernadette Hewitt said: “Dora’s paintings look fabulous – and it’s great to see her unique perspective on the world.”
