Have you got the Right to Buy?
Further restrictions on the Right to Buy have been introduced by the Housing (Scotland) Act 2010. These affect new tenants to the social rented sector and houses built or acquired by social landlords after 25th June 2008.
The most important changes are to the terms and conditions attached to the Right to Buy, including changes to the initial qualifying period and to the way in which entitlement to discount is calculated.
There have also been changes to the types of houses which cannot be bought through the Right to Buy and the procedures. These changes are known as the Modernised Right to Buy.
