It is your responsibility to make sure that your rent is paid regularly on time. This applies whether you pay all your rent or whether some is paid through Housing Benefit. You must pay your rent in advance and you can pay weekly, fortnightly, every four weeks or monthly.

There are eight easy ways to pay:

Online

By telephone
Call us on Freephone 0800 479 7979 to pay by debit or credit card. Lines are open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

By Standing Order
Why carry large amounts of cash around when it’s safer and easier to set up a standing order through your bank? Your local housing organisation will help set this up and you will need GHA’s bank details.
The Royal Bank of Scotland
10 Gordon Street, Glasgow G1 3PL
Sort Code 83-07-06
Housing account number 10096599

At your local Post office
You can pay at the Post Office using your GHA rent payment card.

By PayPoint
You can pay your rent by cash at any PayPoint outlet (click on the link to search for the one nearest you). All you need to do is take your GHA rent payment card and money to anywhere you see the PayPoint sign including newsagents, supermarkets, convenience stores and garages.

By post
You can send a cheque or postal order directly to GHA at Granite House, 177 Trongate, Glasgow G1 5HF. All cheques or postal orders should clearly identify your rent account number and be made payable to The Glasgow Housing Association Limited. It would be helpful if you write your name and address on the back of the cheque, particularly if you need a receipt.

In person
If you want to pay your account in person you can use the cash collection facility at GHA’s city centre office at 177 Trongate. It is open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, except public holidays.

By Housing Benefit
Many tenants are eligible for help with their rent through Housing Benefit. Please make sure that you are not one of those to miss out. Even if you have applied unsuccessfully before, it is always worth trying again, particularly if you receive tax credits. You can get a claim form from your local housing organisation or from one of the Glasgow City Council Benefit centres. If you claim benefit and your circumstances change, for example, if you start work or someone moves into or out of your home, you must tell Glasgow City Council. Failure to do so could result in a housing benefit overpayment leading to rent arrears which we will recover from you.
