On February 27, 2009, GHA Board approved the following changes to rent and service charges for 2009/2010.

- No rent increase for demolition stock and stock where no firm decision on its long-term future has been taken
- 4.2% increase across all service charges

Rents will increase on April 6, 2009.
Do you receive full Housing Benefit?
If you receive full Housing Benefit, your benefit amount will automatically increase in line with new rent and service charges. However, you will need to pay for charges that are not eligible for benefit (such as heating, garden maintenance and GHA contents insurance).
Do you receive partial Housing Benefit?
If you receive partial Housing Benefit, Glasgow City Council will advise you of the amount you receive. You will then need to work out how this will affect the amount of rent you have to pay. If you need help to work this out, contact your local housing office and our staff will be happy to help.
Paying on time
It is a condition of your tenancy agreement that you should pay your rent in advance by the 28th of each month for the month to come. If we do not receive payment by the 28th, your rent account will be in arrears. Our staff can help you make sure this does not happen – just speak to your housing officer. If your account is in arrears we will contact you to highlight any balance due and arrange for you to settle your account in full. We will send you a rent statement four times a year. We will take swift action against tenants who do not pay their rent.
Are you receiving enough benefit from Glasgow City Council?
We can help you maximise your income and challenge benefit decisions. Since 2003 we have helped tenants recover almost £10 million of welfare benefits they were previously missing out on.
