Better homes, better communities
We play a key role in regenerating communities across Glasgow. Our £1.2 billion project to modernise 70,000 former council homes – making them warmer, safer and drier – is nearly finished, on time and within budget. It has involved overcladding and re-roofing and installing new central heating, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows and wiring.
We are also building hundreds of new homes. New-build projects have been completed recently in:
- Yoker
- Pollok
- New Shaws
- Govan
- Carntyne
- Mount Florida
- Springboig and Knightswood.
Work is underway on regenerating many more communities including at the Gallowgate, Sighthill and Kingsway in Scotstoun.
We work closely with our partners – including Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government – on regeneration and involve local people in plans at every stage.
